Description:

The rocket scientists at Volant have outdone themselves with this one. The Volant Cold Air Intake System lets your engine breathe huge gulps of cool, power-producing air for a massive performance boost. Increases of up to 18 horsepower, 40 ft/lbs of torque and even bolstered MPG are yours with Volant.

The Hi-Flow Velocity Air Box breathes in oodles of performance-enhancing air via the massive air duct. Many Volant Cold Air Intakes also include an enclosed air box that takes power and efficiency higher. Some drivers even report an increase in gas mileage by 1 to 2 miles per gallon. What's more, it can take less than an hour using standard household tools to replace the old, suffocating factory air box.

Best yet, Volant gives most vehicles a performance filter choice: the original high-performance cotton-gauze filter with cleaning intervals of 35,000-50,000 miles, or the oil-free PowerCore® air filter, requiring maintenance after a whopping 100,000 miles.

Right intake wrong cover

After reading the reviews myself I decided to get this intake to replace my K&N 57 intake. Installation was simple and the price was right where'd I needed it to be. However, the cover was blue instead of black as depicted in every picture. In my red Challenger it looks tacky. Performance wise I'm satisfied!

Easy install, can feel a difference.

Watched the install video and then had it done in about 40 minutes. I can hear a more audible rumble in the lower rpm's and a little bit more throat when I have to step on it on the highway or what not. Does seem to be better throttle response and feels like there's a bit more power also in the lower gears. As for higher gears I don't notice the power just a different sound to the engine/exhaust. All in all I really like it and think it was worth the money. Always fun just working on your truck.

Solid.

Install was extremely easy, can be done with basic tools. Looks very good in the engine bay, love the see through cap on the air box. Would like to see some worm gear clamps included for breather hoses, but other than that it's a solid product, dont notice much change with throttle response, but you can feel the torque gain across the low gears, especially 2nd.

Looks nice but functionality not sure about

I was a little disappointed that the air duct tube just sets in the box a little sloppy and that there was just a rubber gasket to try and stabilize the tube for moving around which does not seal the box from the engine compartment. And a additional opening at the front to the engine compartment I don't see how you're getting cold air out of the engine compartment. If I want this to work the way I feel it should work I will need to do modifications until that time It is in at no increases of MPG

2500hd 6.0

I recently added an exhaust system to my truck and felt an improved response to motor. A couple of weeks later added the CAI from Volant and it made an even bigger response from the motor. My sluggish 6.0 wants to move now. Best investment I could for my old pickup. Should have done years ago

2016 Yukon XL Denali

Wow ! ! Did all my research and decided on the Volant Cold Air Intake with the more traditional paper style cone filter because it boasted higher performance characteristics than the 100K mile version. Plus I like tinkering with my toys so will clean every 15k miles. I read reviews and now believe that I may have picked up an extra 20 HP. Also, believe it or not I travel on business with lots of Hwy miles. I am seeing an average of over 3 miles per gallon in fuel savings. No retuning.

Nice Cold Air Intake

This is my 4th Volant intake that I have installed. Just like the others, this is great. Installed pretty easy, Had to make some adjustments to the mounting holes in the bottom of the filter. Not really a problem, but should be 100% correct from the factory. Directions were easy to follow. Unit is high quality and SOUNDS GREAT when I put my foot on the gas. Keep up the good work.

Sounds good

Made my truck sound like a truck. I can tell a little bit of power increase at part throttle. Looks nice under the hood. Can't tell any mpg difference either way

Not too shabby

The instructions for this are horrible. Not everything fit exactly. The instructions for the "snorkel" are useless. The response, however, was immediate. I could definitely notice the difference, especially, when I punched it merging onto the interstate. Looks a lot better than the stock unit.

Some great things, sprinkled with some bad

The intake itself is amazing, unfortunately the rubber gasket where the thermostat/air temp gauge is supposed to be inserted was awful. The fit was also a little snug and not perfect - but compared to the K&N that rusted on me, this intake is amazing so far!

Doug from Utah

The installation went great. It took about and hour. I was worried about it being noisy when I was pulling hard but I didn't notice any extra noise at all. It gave me a quicker throttle response and more power. I haven't checked to see if it helped with gas mileage yet. Definitely worth it.

Improved throttle response

I have noticed improved throttle response and possibly a slight MPG gain. Unsure about any HP/TQ gains. However, installation was simple took me about a half hour or so and zero beers. Looks awesome under the hood. I plan on getting a tune and hopefully in conjunction with this CAI it will wake up the truck some.
