So... I have had the K&N and after seeing some online performance tests, went with volant. Wow! Clear throat sound and performance. Sure the actual numbers may not show huge but you can clearly feel and hear the difference.. I have a 16' GMC Z71 4x4 and always called it the "pig". sluggish, fat and just blah on sound and pickup. Well this made it like a different truck. K&N didnt make this difference in my old 14' Silverado. I made the clear right choice!

Engine: 5.7L V8 Easy install, kinda pricey, haven't seen much of a fuel saving, but performance is really great in regards to acceleration. and sound AMAZING w heavy on the pedal but otherwise not noticeable under normal acceleration. great first time buy

2015 Chevy 1500 6" BDS lift 35" kinates 12.5 x 17 procomp Iron cross push bar 9.5k smittybilt winch Super series 10 with 3.5 Volant CAI oiled 50"light bar I bought this CAI with the intent on helping me "get back" the hp I lost when I added about 700lbs of weight. So far I haven't noticed a huge increase in power, but sometimes if I keep the throttle at 2500rpm I can Feel a kick to it. But mostly it has just helped out with fuel efficiency by 1mpg And it sounds really cool.

Great deep roar and fits perfectly after I had to trash K&N for poor fitment and terrible design. Filter was covered in grease in 2 months. Closed box design is great for maintenance and protection also have gained 1.4 mpg so far with romping the truck also the truck wants to stay in four cylinders longer than restrictive stock useless weight

Easy to install, since I had to do it twice due to missing parts. Volant came through and sent the parts overnight. Noticeable gain in power, not much yet in the way of improved MPGs. I like that there is little to no metal to rot out 5 years from now.
