Bought this for my girlfriend's Jeep for Christmas and assumed it would be an easier install than the one on my 2012 Kia Optima 2.0L turbo, considering the intake on her Jeep is front mounted on a 5.7L Hemi...think again. The installation instructions do not meet quality expectations. I came out with spare washers, nuts, random pieces that have no mention in the manual. I have put 2 others together on past vehicles with no "leftovers". Air box was a pain in the arse too. Great intake though!

This intake is a must have for any hemi engine. Improved acceleration, quicker throttle response, great under the hood look, and it sure made the magnaflow exhaust I have really roar. Hemi is a great engine and you gotta let her breathe. K+N is the best in the business at giving these engines the air they deserve.

I noticed a definite engine response/performance increase. However, the sound is average and does not occur under normal accelerating conditions. You really have to mash on the gas to hear it and it usally starts at about 2500 RPM. Also the gasket is a poor design. A (1) piece would have been better than the 2 piece design with provides a gap as it does not reach all the way around and keeps popping up.

I got more than 2 miles per gallon on the highway. In the city I believe I actually got more fuel economy. I have the MDS on my 5.7 hemi where it drops to 4 cyl when its under about 2200 rpm. The trip computer said I was getting 26 mph when it usually reads 14 mph! Highly recommended. I can't believe I waited so long to make this purchase. I was also able to get rid of all that useless plastic under the hood. Great product.
