I read reviews and my mechanic also said the air take wouldn't make any difference , especially without aftermarket exhaust . It is amazing !!! Defiantly gets up and goes better ! Sounds great . Gas is the same. Snice I can't keep my foot off the gas . I'm on the road a lot I transport small boats and jetski around 400 miles each way or further. I used to call my truck "princess"cause I had to baby her going up steep hills . Now she can breathe ! And she wants to go ! Very happy.!

I expected to get better mileage in the city in stop and go areas but on the highway it's more noticeable. It gives the V6 more of a V8 sound inside the cab. No huge difference really other than just being able to hear your engine breathe for once, it's honestly just a good addition to your truck for the long run unless you don't like the sweet sound of performance coming from your motor everyday. Easy install besides the plastic screw in pieces they are impossible to screw in all the way.

The facts are, the air system was very well built and easy to install. Truck had been getting 16.8 MPG over 40,000 miles. Install the K&N 77 I got 16.2 MPG for the next 8,000 miles and it was very loud. I reinstalled the old system; the first 1,000 miles averaged 17.2 MPG and is much quieter. I am so glad I kept the old system and was able to reinstall it. The bottom line, for me anyway, I lost over 1 MPG and it was loud, not to mention it was expensive to buy. Guess I will Ebay it.Good Luck
