Description:

Restriction can exist BETWEEN an air filter and the engine. This is the weakest link in the airflow "chain" and robs a vehicle of its natural horsepower. Often that weak point is the factory air path leading to the Engine. K&N air intake systems virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered tube drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into POWER. The 57 Series Gen II Air Intake Kits are built for many different vehicles and represent a dramatic improvement over any O/E intake filter; they use only non-metallic rotationally molded tubes that can reduce air temperature and decrease intake sound over a metal tube.

Great product

It was exactly what I ordered and fit my 2011 Tahoe like a glove! I have very little mechanical experience but the installation instructions were very detailed and a fun Saturday driveway project! Would definitely recommend!

Great

Love the FIPK as I always have. I was a little disappointed in K&N's QC as there were three pieces of hardware missing from the packaging. I replaced those though and everything is working as expected. Will still buy the same product next time around.

K&n CAI

Fairly easy install. Few items of interest. Do not need to disconnect radiator hose. You can install a lot of the stuff on the heat shield prior to installation in the vehicle to make it quicker and easier.

Allow an afternoon to complete installation

No. It's not a 90 minute job. If you have done it a few, then yes. First timers allow more time to do this task right. Instructions are ok, not great. It helps to watch a YouTube video first if you can. The hardware isn't marked so you need to be careful with nuts, bolts, and so on... Get the right combination. A couple of steps could be much better explained and illustrated, but if you have basic auto skills you will do fine. Overall this is a well designed and thought out product.

Great Product!

Installation was easy. You can feel the engine wake up a little which is what I was hoping for. Also adds a great sound as you step into it. Would highly recommend. Price is a little high but got the one time discount and mail in rebate, so that helped.

Skeptical at first.....

Definitely worth it! I researched CAI's for quite a while and figured I would see a slight improvement in gas mileage of up to 1 mpg. Pleasantly surprised to see just under 3 mpg improvement with the K&N 57 FIPK. Sounds no different than stock under normal load, but sounds like a million bucks when you get in the gas pedal. Kind of addicting. I drive with a fairly heavy foot on the pedal. Wish I would have put one on much sooner.

K&N 57 Series Air Intake

Everything was well done including the installation instructions. The kit did not include the 6mm flat washers. I had to supply them myself even though they were called out in the instructions.

Easy install to add horse power

Followed the install directions step by step and had it done in a little over an hour. Love the added power and the sound when I step on the gas pedal. Has not improved gas mileage like it was supposed to (even after I calmed down on the pedal). The package was supposed to come with a free K&N recharge kit from Autoanything. It did not so that was a little disappointed.

2015 Chevy Silverado 4.8

Installed on a friends truck. A must buy for all 4.8 owners, This is how the truck should come from the factory. Performs much more like the 5.3 with this intake in. Roar is nice when on it but around town it is just as tame as stock. Restriction is gone. Felt a huge power increase and mileage has gone up as well.

Quick easy power

One of the first things I usually do when I purchase a new vehicle is install a K&N air intake. Again, the ease of installation, the added power, and the better sound from my exhaust were all there. I always search the internet for the best prices and usually always end up here at Auto Anything. Great product at a great price.

You can't go wrong with K & N

There is a reason this is the top rated after market cold air intake for my 09 Yukon 5.3L. Adds instant responsiveness and throaty sound. Great investment!!!

Easy install. Gave my Sierra a nice throaty grawl to it while punching it. Helped with HP as well.

Great product!

K&N is the way to go. Probably my 3rd different CAI from them over the years. Tried Volant and K&N seems to be a better product.

Not worth the high price

Defiantly gained horse power but lost gas mileage. Air sensor would not fit in original tube. K&N was good to work with on problem. Sent me a new tube overnight.

Looking for better mpg.

I really wasn't looking for more power but for better mpg! So far that hasn't happened, I am getting 14 MPG now where as before I was getting 15 MPG! Not a happy camper!

Worth The Time

Pulled my 24' camper the next day after installing - immediately noticed the difference in power gain. Not being the mechanics type - installation took longer than the advertised 90 minutes. Requires a large drill bit for one modification which took some extra time. Instructions and pictures were good - but illustration diagram was cluttered and difficult to follow. Unit is pricey - it won't pay itself off with increased fuel mileage - but will take the power gain.

Quality Product

The directions could have been written a little better. I had to keep going to the exploded picture to make sure the right bolts and nuts were in the proper place. Other than that and not knowing id have to drill a hole where the factory air box was located it was easy. Looks good and built with quality parts. Vast improvement combined with my bully dog gt tuner.

Great but loud

I installed this CAI unit on my 013 Avalanche. I noticed an immediate difference in low end torque, which was lacking before. I also pull a 26 foot toy hauler and going uphill you can really hear the low roar of the intake. So much so it drowns out the radio. Other than that I would have given it 5 stars.

Installation

The instructions could have been a little more detailed. The term use hardware included could have detailed the size of bolts etc.
