easy install my kit uses the stock air box with KN hi flow filter .definitely sounds more throaty when hard acceleration ,there is a bit of a whistle at higher rpm , think its from the screen in the air box cover , kinda sounds like a turbo spooling up,sorta cool.

Installation was really easy under an hour. I couldn't believe how much power this gave my truck. I had just installed a flowmaster exhaust system and this air intake completes it. It just breaths better and has an overall smoother transition between gears. It's a little bit louder but in a good way. Very happy with this purchase.

More power without sucking noise

I did not install the K & N but had mechanic install it in his shop. Too cold for me to install it. Still checking for increased mileage, my wife was driving my truck at 95 miles per hour going to Florida, so it was hard for her to keep it under 80 miles per hour because she could no hear the engine at any speed! But, we still got over 14 miles per gallon.
