I'd say it took me under an hour to install. I didn't have any issues. Not even with the provided silicone hose kinking when making the 90 degree angle necessary in order to connect from vent port on intake tube to valve cover. If you manipilate the tube the right way it can be achieved. The sound is rich and the horsepower improvement is evident when you climb to higher rpms before the next gear shift (manual) Imroved fuel economy? not sure and don't really care. Didn't buy it to improve on MPG

Installation was not too difficult on my 2009n Scion xD. However, it did take to modification of the brackets and the air filter box to get the intake tube /filter to align. Noted increase in power, response & mileage. Installation was well detailed with only two issues: 1. Two screws with pressed-on collars in the kit and no place for them. 2. Vacuum hose has 2 sharp bends that kink - need to have a heavier hose or some method of eliminating the kinks. Looks nice too!

My husband installed this in my 2009 Scion xD automatic in less than an hour. Acceleration has improved, seems to have a bit more oomph in 2nd gear. I haven't run a full tank of gas thru the car since the install, so I can't say yet about gas mileage improvement, but it seems to be taking longer than usual to run thru a tank of gas, so my guess is there will be some improvement there as well. We use K & N products in our vehicles, and will continue to do so as long as we're driving.
