Installation was very easy. The engine has more very noticeable horsepower you can feel in the pedal when the time calls for it. Gas mileage has improved greatly. All in all a great buy for anyone that loves their Ford Ranger as much as I do. Now if everyone will excuse me I want to go trade some gas for horsepower in my awesome truck thanks to K&N.

K&N always gets it right. Small power gain, big sound change (hearing the engine suck in the air is a great sound), small boost to gas mileage (1-2 mpg). Installation instructions were good. On the step to remove old air box, pull up on just the box. The mount is right under it and is grabbed by mistake easily.

Looks good, sounds good, not sure how much of a performance difference it makes, but can definitely hear more air flowing through. Installation was easy except for having to slightly modify mass airflow sensor mount to make it fit.

Ford Ranger: 4.0l, Auto I bought this without any expectation of major change. Instead there is a significant improvement in drivability - through the mountains, using cruise control, the truck drives more smoothly, with less "kick down" to lower gears. Fuel economy has definitely improved, my guess is I saved 1/4 tank on a 1,100 km drive (Calgary to Victoria), which I drive twice a month. Slight sucking noise from cold start, which goes away when warm. Overall: Surprised and very pleased.

I had a K&N drop in filter and decided to give the entire intake a try. It is hard to evaluate the sound as I have an MBRP Catback on the truck. I started off at about 25mpg in town and 18 highway. With the exhaust, drop in filter, and tonneau cover I went to 18 in town and 20 highway. The throttle response seems a little crisper.

i bought this kit for my 2010 ford ranger. it was easy to install and looks great! more importantly though, i feel the power and my milage is improved, and it is nice to know that my engine (4.0)is breathing better and is more efficient! i previously bought a similar kit for my 2001 mazda miata and am happy with it for all the same reasons! get one, you'll love it!

I purchased this kit with the hopes of improved MPG and HP when needed. The installation was easy, less than an hour. The improvement was immediate. I got what I wanted in both areas. All in all a good add.

Instructions were good and clear and when followed to the letter, installation is not too hard. I do however get a "pop" sound from the cone occasionaly when at idle at a red light or stop sign. At the instant of the 'pop' the revs decrease by about 200 or increase about 200 very briefly, but the truck performs normally other times. Any suggestions??

Improvement in MPG when coupled with Flowmasters. Better performance and responce. Rather easy to instal minus specific instruction on air flow sensor and screws to use
