The cold air intake was just the start of the performance upgrade to my vehicle. With fuel prices on the rise I need to get the most out of my engine. With a modified exhaust and a performance chip, I hope to increase the fuel efficiency by 8 MPG.

The photo showed the cold air intake including a box/divider wall to limit warm air from engine compartment going to the air filter which was not included. The photo also showed a tube from the filter to the throttle body which was not included. That dissapointed me, but performance was increased through the entire rpm range, and it is a cool to hear the air sucking sound when the motor is reving. I have been thinking of doing some modifications to the original air box to creat a partial divider box eliminating the hot air from getting to the air filter. Which i did check imeadiatly after instalation... The filter is hot after driving, espeially the area facing the engine compartment.

I own a 2003 Ford Ranger 2.3L. When I first got it I noticed that when under hard acceleration it would dog down and had issues passing. With the new air kit I notice a large increase in power and that it got rid of the "dead foot" issue that the truck had.
