I can tell the truck is more responsive due to freed up air flow. I look forward to see if there is any better fuel economy. I especially like the fact that the dry filter does not leave a oily residue on the MAF and cause SES lights.

After the initial install, which I may add was pretty straight forward, I decided to take my 2000 HD Silverado out for a test spin. Not only did I hear the difference by I felt the difference as well. The jury's still out on the fuel economy improvement since it (afe cleaner) hasn't been in place long enough to evaluate. That's the only reason for the 3 stars on the price/value rating. If things do hold true to form there will most likely be some gain in that department.

This item shipped fast and was complete/correct. The install was simple and took less than one hour. The response and boost in fuel economy has actually been noticeable through the first two tanks of fuel. Recommended!

I am so impressed with my aFe cold air intake system I bought. I right away notice more get up and go with it, and better throttle response, I have stock exhaust right now but will be upgrading to a dual exhaust soon. I want say it probally took me a 1/2 hour to put on, very easy and good instructions. I also want to say that AUTO ANYTHING is by far the best company I have ever worked with, there prices are the lowest around and shipping is very quick. thank you auto anything !!! Jeff D.

If you are looking for a intake that you can feel a increase in horsepower this intake is great also it's quiet on regular acceleration and when you are ready to hit the gas it has a aggressive deep tone when you wanna go I haven't had it long enough to see if it has any mpg gains

I haven't installed any other Air Intake systems on my vehicle, so I can't compare it to other brands. However, aFe has grabbed my attention for quite some time now. So I purchased the Cold Air Intake for my 05 Tahoe. Quick and easy installation (self installed) The sound of it is absolutely addicting! Compared to the sound of the stock air box and filter (silence) The aFe intake sounds wonderful, very aggressive growl when accelerating. AutoAnything has amazing prices, shipping is on time, and the products are high in quality, not one of those rip off sites with tons of gimmicks. Overall, very very pleased with my purchase. I will be continuing my business with AA.

Purchased the stage 2 kit, which includes the snorkel tube to the intake manifold. Had a problem with fan blade interference hitting the snorkel tube. Apparently there are different configurations (tubes)for both electric and mechanical (belt) drive fans. So this is a recent issue and as yet resolved, but hope to have the right part soon. I reinstalled the OEM tube temporarily, and the results are still very good, on both power and mileage increase, it's not alot but it is noticable. I plan to keep this truck a long time, and so any upgrade such as this will pay off based on fuel cost. Agree with other reviews, instructions could be LARGER PRINT/PHOTOS.
