My Ranger is 5 spd manual w/4.0L eng. My goal with this install was to improve the mid range torque [1500-3000 rpm] for day to day street driving especially on hilly roads. I installed the K&N intake first and drove the truck for a week. The mid range torque/power did improve and the truck would more easily climb hills in 5th gear without the need to downshift. I installed the Jet Chip Stage 1 Module  which further enhanced the torque and power for day to day driving...Good Combination.
