AEM V2 Cold Air Intake

Reviewed By John J (Orlando, FL) Reviewed for a 2002 Honda Accord —6/8/2012 4:41 AM

The intake seemed to remove some of the hesitation in my 02 Accord. It quickens the throttle response in low rpms, and you can really start to hear the intake growl around 3000-4000 rpms. It really seems to help a great deal with mid-range rpm acceleration, but I woulnd't say it helps all that much to make you to take off faster at a red light. The only real downside was that the throttle body end of the intake tubing was bent out of the box. I bent it back out with vice grips, but scratched that end of the intake tubing up. Luckily the scratched part is covered up by the coupler that connectes the intake to the throttle body. The problem was not a fault of Auto Anything, but probably an AEM QC issue. I highly recommend this intake. It should make anyone who buys it happy. Since I put the intake on, I have been dying to redo my headers/cat/exhaust.

Very easy to install, only issue was clearance with A/C line but instructions had the solution. Sounds amazing over 3,000 rpms especially near redline. Performance really only noticable at higher rpms kinda like the sound. As far as gas mileage, I only have one tank to go by and the mileage stayed about the same, but being that I was lead footed I would imagin that it will be an increase once back to normal driving.
