Air Intake Systems

2001 Ford Explorer Air Intake Systems

The quickest and most popular way to squeeze every last opportunity for power in your car or truck has to do with air consumption. The air intake system was designed from the factory to provide just enough airflow while reducing engine noise and clutter. Unfortunately, most of these designs are not designed to let the most airflow through to your engine. Think of trying to exercise while taking short small breaths, compared to taking big deep breaths. The difference is pivotal. Let that engine breathe freely with one of our cold air intake kits. Check out our Car Air Intake Systems Buying Guide.
Not sure which 2001 Ford Explorer Air Intake Systems are right for you? We have over 20796 customer reviews, with an average rating of 4.5, to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Here's what some of our customers have said:

"not too hard to install, instructions could be a LITTLE more detailed but no serious issues. noticed a slight increase in power and mpg but ive only ran 2-3 tanks. sounds nice under the hood when revved above 2500 rpm but at around 2000 rpm there is a very high pitch whistle...and no its NOT a leak, everything is tight as it can go. i'm thinking it's either the throttle body or some other part but i'm not sure. anyway, good little boost for a not-too-expensive add-on." —Andrew D from Newberg, OR bought a K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit for a 2001 Ford Explorer, Sport Trac, 4.0L V6, manufactured after 7/24/2000.

In addition to Ford Explorer Air Intake Systems, you may also enjoy one of these popular products: MBRP Smokers Diesel Exhaust Stacks, Edge EZ Performance Module, PaceSetter Direct-Fit Catalytic Converters - 49 State Legal.

Airaid Intake System

Excellent Mod for my 2010 Camaro

The AirAid CAI system that I installed in my 2010 Camaro is the most significant "bolt-on" modification to add HP that I have experienced. The instructions for installation was easy because it took me step-by-step from start to finish. When I was done I couldn't wait to test drive my car. I was blown away at the noticeable increase in HP from this one part. View more reviews...

K&N 57 Series FIPK Air Intake (50-State Legal)

K&N FIPK Air Intake

On the average, it was pretty easy to install. I had to adapt the manifold hose grommet. I don't know if it was my imagination or not, but the truck did seem to have more pickup. The real test will be when I pull the boat for the first time. I am trying to eke out a little more power from the small 6 cylinder engine. View more reviews...
