The separate cam plate on this 2-piece cover makes it much easier to change cams in the future. The troublesome LS balancer no longer needs to be removed. On a Corvette it is even more useful because it saves not only removing the balancer, but the entire steering rack and PS parts which are in the way of the balancer.
