Your mom may have told you never to take your toys out of the yard, but that rule only applies to Tonka trucks—not to trail-thrashing mountain bikes and street demon road racers. Traveling around with your two-wheeler lets you explore new routes, conquer new challenges and push your abilities to their limit. But, you have to get there first, and the versatile RockyMounts TieRod Bike Rack gets you there in style.
One look at the RockyMounts TieRod Bike Rack, and you half expect it to be in a museum. It's sleek stature, aerodynamic lines and vibrant colors give it a look that stands out on the road. Beyond its boss appearance, though, the RockyMounts TieRod is made for bike-hauling action. Its sturdy aluminum construction, quick-release skewer and optional locks hold your bicycle firmly in place, ensuring that it reaches the trailhead in one piece. Plus, the tray is wide enough to handle both svelte track and fatty mountain bike tires.
Best of all, the RockyMounts TieRod Bike Rack is designed to fit where traditional roof bike carriers can't: on factory crossbars. Thanks to its rubber-lined stainless steel straps, it tightens down and conforms to the shape of 100% of factory crossbars for a grip that won't quit. And, it comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Moderately easy to install, sturdy. If there's one gripe about this rack, is that the locking axle has to be completely unscrewed and taken out before the bike front axle can be put in. So it's no exactly quick to mount or dismount, but once the bike is in place, it's held in place.

Easy to install, low profile, looks good, and secures the bike really well. It does the job, period. By the way, the orange TieRod looks awesome!!

I have the Thule Aeroblades in my Allroad, I love the way they look and the aerodynamic shape (less noise than all racks I've had), but they're mucho bucko! All bike racks out there were on the ballpark of $200+ and with extra unnecessary arms and bulk. The simplicity, sturdiness, sleek looks and versatility of the RockyMount are off the charts. I'm very picky and shopped around for this bike rack. There's nothing out there that compare to this. Btw, you'ok need 2 locks. Thx AutoAnything!

Works exactly as I had hoped. Fits well on the 2017 Outback. Do not hear any extra wind noise. Looks good also - black on black.

Good value, especially when comparing prices around the interweb. The rack is well-designed, easy to install, and looks good. I've used it a few times and no issues or complaints so far. I was hoping that I may be able to 'trim' a few inches off the back so that my trunk/hatch could open all the way up. No dice. That's on the Infiniti, not the RockyMounts. I didn't spend enough time up front understanding the need for two locks: one for the rack, one for the bike to the rack.
