Description:

When frigid conditions leave a layer of frost on the asphalt, it can send your anti-lock brakes into the dreaded Ice Mode. Unfortunately, too much brake torque can trick your ABS into thinking you're skating on the streets. For powerful braking that won't overpower your ABS, upgrade to Hawk HPS 5.0 Pads. Boasting an advanced ferro-carbon formulation, they hit the brake torque sweet spot to speed up your stopping times without triggering the Ice Mode.

Quicker stops, firmer pedal feel and less fade-Hawk HPS 5.0 Brake Pads deliver the sporty performance that spirited street drivers crave. Though powerful, they generate minimal dust, muffle loud noises and won't chew through your rotors like traditional track pads. Less maintenance and more excitement-that's the Hawk HPS 5.0 Brakes difference.

Whether you're burning rubber in an American muscle car or drifting in an import tuner, Hawk Performance 5.0 Brake Pads are available for a wide range of rides. And since they're custom sized for a direct replacement fit, they're easy to install yourself right at home. Best of all, Hawk 5.0 Pads come backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

The best street pad I've ever used

I use these pads in Stoptech ST-40 calipers on my 2007 Toyota Tacoma. The good: -Superior stopping power -Zero fade -Great heat resistance -Easy to install with the Stoptech calipers. -Very quiet The not as good: -They are not cheap -Medium dust. The dust is black - and my wheels are black - so not visibly noticeable - but still a hassle to clean. Overall - would absolutely buy again. Have never been disappointed with Hawk pads - and I've tried many other brands.

Great Pads

Had 5.0 on front and now added 5.0 to rear axle. Stopping is much quicker than stock at a reasonable price.

Hawk 5.0 brake kit

After a little back and forth to get the correct rear kit I was ready to install. Have good results with Hawk brakes in the past so I ordered both front and rear kit for my car. A little surprised to see rotors made in China. Time will tell if I made a wise choice or if I should have ordered Hawk pads and other brand rotor.

hawks are the way to go!

These brakes are solid and provide exceptional braking power. The dust is minimal and the break-in period is relatively short with a few squeaky noises which is typical for new brakes. Haven't had this on the road too long but so far im satisfied and will probably stick with this brand.

Signiifcant upgrade over stock pads

I was having some troubling getting a good balance between the front and rear brakes on my '33 Ford. The pads that came with the front end kit didn't seem to have much bite. I found these and I can tell a significant difference in response. I was afraid they'd be noisy, but not so. They were a great buy for me.

A great upgrade

Very little dust and very quiet after break in. These are more aggressive than stock pads but not a full on race pad.

The ideal brake pads for High-Preformance Vehicles

The Hawk HPS 5.0 Brake Pads have very smooth aggressive stopping power like you would think a super-charged Corvette should come from the factory with. You can stop 2 times quicker, they are by far the best brake pads I have ever used. The best part of all, they are exact replacements for your standard brake pads and require no special tools or modifications.

better braking

Have used Hawk before with good success. This time the problem was which ones to install, there are several levels now. Picked the HPS 5.0 based on how the vehicle is most used. The factory jeep ceramic pads were a little short on stopping ability. The Hawk improved the stopping ability and balanced out the front to rear pitch. The stock pads on the rear were worn out at 50,000 miles and the front were about 50%. Glad I chose Hawk, no noise or pull.

Brake pads

Only had then on for a week, but they seem fine so far. Been hearing some squealing but my front Hawk pads did that too at first.

Retraction of 'Not what Hawk's rating claims!' review

I am retracting what I said in a prior review. During my last brake pad replacement, I ran into problems with brake calipers. Through a process of elimination 1) possible bad resurfacing of the rotors and 2) possible bad calipers, I eventually found that the calipers were bad. Because I didn't resurface the rotors and HPS 5.0 pads after the multiple changes, the brakes didn't work properly. Hawk recommended 200 grit sanding of pads and rotors and rebedding as recommended. IT WORKED!

E90 BMW 335i Sedan

After some assistance with the online customer service, we did confirm fitment for all E90 335i sedans (info provided conflicted with the manufacturer's application list). These pads DO come with the required pad wear sensors, which was also hard to determine based on the manufacturer's information, and some other vendors online showing other Hawk pads with images of the sensors. All in all, great product from Hawk, would recommend these over the standard HPS pads for a DD.

legit pads

I like them much more than stock pads because there is less brake dust on wheels. I can't tell the difference in stopping power as they are installed on rear axle.

Bought them as a test and love them

Purchased these Pads for Subaru forester as a test pad and I love the way the stop the car. It is not a squishy feel on the rear but rather a solid slowing down like I was looking for. Now I will be buying the front kit with rotors because I like these pads that much. I would recommend to these to anyone looking to upgrade from stock.

5.0 pads on 2006 subaru outback

Before I did my brakes it felt like i could not stop. You can hear a little noise when slowly letting on or off the break, but it sounds great. Its pure gripping power. Feels like a new car again! well worth the money. Have only had them on about 2 weeks. Cant notice rims being more dirty... not sure about pad or rotor life. Put new centric premium rotors on at same time. Thank you 20% off!

Good so far

I have put about 100-200 miles on these pads with new rotors as well. Initial bite isn't quite as good as the stock pads, but overall a pretty decent pad, and they seem to work fine for my daily driven car.
