Frequently Asked Questions

Whats the advantage of two piece rotor?
Two piece rotors are far lighter than their single cast counterparts. They also allow better heat contraction of the rotor ring, and in some cases better air flow through the rotor for better heat dissipation.

What's the advantage of having more pistons in the caliper?
Generally speaking, having a greater number of pistons allows better control of hydraulic pressure exactly where you want it, spread properly across greater surface area on the back of the brake pad. This promotes even pad wear and fantastic brake pedal modulation and feel.

Is hardware included?
Yes all required hardware is included: New caliper carriers to properly mount the caliper, brake lines, pads, rotors

How hard are they to install?
Calipers can be tricky without the right tools. Having a breaker bar and hooks to support the caliper until its fully mounted are handy. Always pump the brakes before test driving.

Are they loud, or do they produce noise?
Very minimal noise is produced over stock

Mostly straight forward install

Good directions make this an easy install even for a guy who hasn't worked on cars for the last 25 years. Things to know: the bridge is tight and so are the slots for the pads. Prior to bed in, knocking (not under braking)may occur. Less grabby than the OEM brakes. Track day in two weeks will tell the tale of the tape.

Awesome upgrade for my 09 challenger rt.

Looked at all my options, did my research and finally pulled the trigger on stoptechs. It was a breeze to install and they look phenomenal compared to the stockers. Want to go fast, gotta stop fast. 750rwhp, S/C 392 STROKER build.

Easy Purchased

I haven't installed these yet, but they shipped faster than expected, and as described. Should be a straight forward install, and I have only heard good things from friends who have also installed Stoptech kits.

Over all nice kit

The kit installed easier than I thought. A few minor things. New brake lines did not match up with the bracket on my truck. Had to make minor modification. The Stoptech calipers each had one nut on them that did not go on well. The was not enough room to get a socket around the nut. Required tightening with open end wrench, and that was a little concerning. The kit looks great installed, and my truck now stops like it should with the big brakes.

Much better than stock equipment

The stock rotors and calipers (with race pads equipped) were not providing enough stopping power for the Corvette Z06 on the Sebring raceway. The StopTech kit comes with street pads, so I ordered StopTech's SR32 race pads to use although the pad shape is a common one available from many different vendors. Regarding slotted vs. drilled rotors: The StopTech engineer said that drilled is for show; slotted is for the track. It's like I am driving a different car! Very happy!

StopTech BBK for 2005 G35 Coupe

The biggest 'flaw' of most 'Sporty' cars is the brakes, not for 'normal driving', but 'spirited driving'! I did a lot of research, before purchasing the StopTech BBK. One of the biggest reasons that I finally chose this BBK, is that it is a 'Balanced' system, balanced with your OEM brake system (ABS, etc.) The BBK has lived up to its expectations, although I don't have very many miles on it. AutoAnything had a VERY good price on the kit, which has now gone up considerably.Used PosiQuiet Pads.
