Exhaust, Mufflers & Tips

Teslas are cool, but some people want a little bark to go along with their bite. Ah, the sweet sound of redline...

2004 Chevy Silverado Exhaust, Mufflers & Tips

There are few things in the car realm more annoying than a bad exhaust. Leaky exhaust systems can hurt performance, fuel economy, throw check engine codes and prevent your car from passing smog. A high-quality performance exhaust can be one of the most rewarding mods you can do to your vehicle. Every time you accelerate, shift or rev the engine you get a visceral impact from the sound and feel of your exhaust cracking and burbling.

A good exhaust setup can also be one of the best style upgrades for your car, whether it’s a side, single or dual exit, a chrome or titanium exhaust tip can make your car stand out. An exhaust system is a relatively expensive mod, that’s why it’s important to do research to find the best exhaust system brands and types to fit your vehicle and your customization goals.

Aftermarket manufacturers spend thousands of hours of prototyping and testing their custom exhaust systems to ensure every piece - from the headers to the muffler – performs to their specifications. Want to know how exhaust systems work or compare a slew of performance exhausts? Check out our exhaust buyers guide for an in-depth comparison.

"I installed an AEM air intake & Flowmaster exhaust on my 04 Chevy silverado. Both are easy to install and really add performance. Autoanything was super helpful and I would recommend them to anyone who needs anything auto. Ill be ordering more great items from you guys, no doubt. I also installed a billet grill from Putco & a bull bar from Westin. Great products, great prices,& even better customer service. Thanks for every thing-RJD" —Rob D from Sparta , NJ bought a Flowmaster Exhaust Systems for a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

"easy installation all bolts and gaskets were included. i have more throttle response than before and better gas milage if i dont mash down too hard on the gas.. overall it is definately worth the money." —George L from Stephenville, TX bought a Gibson Exhaust Performance Header for a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

"Great product!!! I true dualed, and X-piped it. Sounds great throughout the powerbands, and has better accelleration. Gas mileage is about the same. Tone is right where I want it (LOUD). Gotta go flowmaster." —Gary H from Spokane, WA bought a Flowmaster Super 40 Series Mufflers for a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

"The overall appearance and fit were very good, however, I thought it would have been better for the unit to have been one piece like the OEM. I had to remove the cross member anyway to get the old one out so nothing was gained by making it a 2-pcs unit with a clamp. After I got it installed, the heat shield or something internal began to rattle and has progressively gotten worse. Very annoying. I am happy with the price and fit, hoe I can get something resolves with the rattle." —Trevor C from Greenwood, IN bought a Magnaflow Catalytic Converters - 49 State Legal for a 2004 Chevy Silverado, 1500, 5.3L V8.

"Well built and easy to install. Took less than an hour to install by my self. Didn't notice any power or fuel milage difference, but it sounds cool." —Dustin M from Junction City, OR bought a MBRP Turbo Downpipe for a 2004 Chevy Silverado, 6.6L Duramax.

"Excellent piece, only difficulty was removing old Y pipe. Installation was a breeze after removing tranny mount." —Alex S from Caledonia, IL bought a Magnaflow Catalytic Converters - 49 State Legal for a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

"sounds great with the flowmaster super 40's. Really evens out the sound. A must for true dualed vehicles." —Gary H from Spokane, WA bought a Magnaflow Tru-X Pipes for a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

"awesome headers i have 40 series flowmaster sounds much deeper and can feel better throttle response and a noticeable difference in pulling power great buy only problem was on the driver side had to grind down header to get it to fit past sensor easy fix though gas mileage remained the same all in all very happy!" —Nathan B from Yukon, OK bought a JBA Cat4ward Headers for a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

"I was not sure how hard the install was going to be for these but me and two friends decided to put them in together, It took about a day and a trip or two to the tools store but we were able to get it done without much trouble, the hardest part is definitely taking the old exhaust manifolds off and the old exhaust, once we had that off we were driving around in the next hour or so and WOW what a difference in sound and power that made, you will not be disappointed with this product! Thank you AutoAnything and thank you pacesetter! They are a perfect fit" —Greg G from Melbourne Beach, FL bought a PaceSetter QuikTrip Long Tube Headers for a 2004 Chevy Silverado, 4.8L V8.

Flowmaster Exhaust Systems

Flowmaster

I was disappointed with the sound. I had duals before which were pretty loud. Alot more quiet than I had. Almost like a stock exhaust. View more reviews...

JBA Cat4ward Headers

Great for a daily driver with California emissions.

This is my second set and for a daily driver under Calif strict emissions, I find JBA has it right. It provides good power and a clean look. View more reviews...

Borla Exhaust Systems

Just as I wanted ..... Sounds GREAT!

All arrived in good time and was well packaged. I opened the package and was impressed with the quality of the system. Everything needed was included and the sound is outstanding. When idling, it has a quality sound which I love, but a Low, throaty rumble when you accelerate, but not too much inside the cab. I am VERY pleased with this purchase. View more reviews...
