2005 Ford Mustang Exhaust, Mufflers & Tips

There are few things in the car realm more annoying than a bad exhaust. Leaky exhaust systems can hurt performance, fuel economy, throw check engine codes and prevent your car from passing smog. A high-quality performance exhaust can be one of the most rewarding mods you can do to your vehicle. Every time you accelerate, shift or rev the engine you get a visceral impact from the sound and feel of your exhaust cracking and burbling.

A good exhaust setup can also be one of the best style upgrades for your car, whether it’s a side, single or dual exit, a chrome or titanium exhaust tip can make your car stand out. An exhaust system is a relatively expensive mod, that’s why it’s important to do research to find the best exhaust system brands and types to fit your vehicle and your customization goals.

Aftermarket manufacturers spend thousands of hours of prototyping and testing their custom exhaust systems to ensure every piece - from the headers to the muffler – performs to their specifications. Want to know how exhaust systems work or compare a slew of performance exhausts? Check out our exhaust buyers guide for an in-depth comparison.

Not sure which 2005 Ford Mustang Exhaust, Mufflers & Tips are right for you? We have over 11164 customer reviews, with an average rating of 4.5, to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Here's what some of our customers have said:

"Have 2010 Challenger R/T 6-speed manual. Already had K&N cold air intake, wanted to open up the exhaust/reduce back pressure a little to match the improved intake for power/performance without increasing the normal-use noise levels. Was advised by Auto-Anything staff to order the "Touring" version over the probably louder "Sport". CORSA specs product for the manual (good), couldn't be sure the two competitors' products were correct for the manual transmission vehicle. Very good sound, seems no louder than the OEM at idle and cruise but GREAT sound on acceleration. NO resonances or droning as guaranteed, also better than OEM. Very attractive rectangular split tips, too. Quick and easy install by a pro shop, inexpensive at just over an hour. Not cheap, within a few dollars of the same price as the other two options but very glad I chose what I chose!" —Bill W from Bulverde, TX bought a Corsa Performance Exhaust for a 2005 Ford Mustang, R/T, manual, 5.7L Hemi.

"Installation (by myself) took about 8 hrs. The time was because I took my time on taking things apart slowly, had manifold studs that the tops stripped (from old manifold), lengthen the O2 sensor (there are instructions) and had to run out to get a could of tools that I did not own. Otherwise everything fit and slid into place perfectly. The sound is amazing.the paint, from headers did immediately burn off (no biggie). Overall a great value and Autoeverything was the perfect place to purchase from. The were very accomidating to my needs, gave me a great price and shipping was fast. Thank you.. Awesome job..." —Rodney P from Anoka, MN bought a PaceSetter QuikTrip Long Tube Headers for a 2005 Ford Mustang, 4.0L V6.

"Installed on 05 Roush Mustang GT w/ auto and I am very happy with the sound! Aggressive but not ridiculous-highly recommend for 05+ GT's. Excellent service-will definitely buy from AutoAnything again!" —Scott M K from Pewaukee, WI bought a Flowmaster Super 40 Series Mufflers for a 2005 Ford Mustang.

"They work real nice and sound better. At least for me it did since i converted my v6 y pipe to these x pipes and it is an outstanding difference. I have them with magnaflow exhaust as well. Good brand but sometimes they can think things thru a little better." —Kevin C from Bloomfield, NJ bought a Magnaflow Tru-X Pipes for a 2005 Ford Mustang.

"Everything fit great. Piece of cake to install. Only negative was all the tape and stickers on the pipes - couldn't get them all off and they burned off with bad smell for first couple of days." —Robert W from Normandy, TN bought an Eastern Catalytic Direct-fit Catalytic Converters - 49-State Legal for a 2005 Ford Mustang, 4.0L V6.

"They work real nice and sound better. At least for me it did since i converted my v6 y pipe to these x pipes and it is an outstanding difference. I have them with magnaflow exhaust as well. "the x-pipe with cats is awesome. pipe was clean looking, perfect fit. the cats are small and clean and fully functional.( just passed my emissions )sounds great and cats have very little restrictions. best price anywhere." —Cory P from Bolingbrook, IL bought a BBK Exhaust Crossover Pipes for a 2005 Ford Mustang, 4.6L V8.

"Can't beat the deal for the price. All it was missing were 2 oxygen sensor bungs that can be welded in at any exhaust shop. After the install I could really feel the difference and hear it too." —Dorian V from El Paso, TX bought a PaceSetter H-Pipes for a 2005 Ford Mustang, GT, 4.6L V8.

"fast shipping good price excelent product easy too install need a lift, air gun and some handy tools and a extra buddy to hold h pipe in place...thanks great sound!!.....extra tips., will sound better with some headers shorty or long tubes..my set up is : tune JBA SHORTY HEADERS H PIPES AND SOME FORD RACING GTA EXHAUST WILL GAIN MORE TOURQUE AND HP....PS ALSO NEED TOO DELETE LAST 2 O2 SENSOR AT THE REAR FROM YOUR PCU...RICO" —Ricardo J from Brandon, FL bought a PaceSetter H-Pipes for a 2005 Ford Mustang, GT.
