2012 Ford Mustang Exhaust, Mufflers & Tips

There are few things in the car realm more annoying than a bad exhaust. Leaky exhaust systems can hurt performance, fuel economy, throw check engine codes and prevent your car from passing smog. A high-quality performance exhaust can be one of the most rewarding mods you can do to your vehicle. Every time you accelerate, shift or rev the engine you get a visceral impact from the sound and feel of your exhaust cracking and burbling.

A good exhaust setup can also be one of the best style upgrades for your car, whether it’s a side, single or dual exit, a chrome or titanium exhaust tip can make your car stand out. An exhaust system is a relatively expensive mod, that’s why it’s important to do research to find the best exhaust system brands and types to fit your vehicle and your customization goals.

Aftermarket manufacturers spend thousands of hours of prototyping and testing their custom exhaust systems to ensure every piece - from the headers to the muffler – performs to their specifications. Want to know how exhaust systems work or compare a slew of performance exhausts? Check out our exhaust buyers guide for an in-depth comparison.

Not sure which 2012 Ford Mustang Exhaust, Mufflers & Tips are right for you? We have over 11164 customer reviews, with an average rating of 4.5, to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Here's what some of our customers have said:

"I have been very pleased with the Corsa Exhaust for my Ford Mustang V6 Convertible. The sound is nice when you hit the throttle but silent when you are at a constant speed. It adds to performance and torque. The price on AutoAnything was best I could find. The quality of material is high and looks nice." —Joe E from Fairfax, VA bought a Corsa Performance Exhaust for a 2012 Ford Mustang, 3.7L V6.

"I bought these headers for my wife's 2012 Mustang V6 as an early Christmas present. The car is insanely loud with Borla ATAK's, but my wife loves how aggressive it sounds. The headers are top quality, and with the ceramic coating the underhood temps are kept in reasonable range. I recommend these to any Mustang V6 owner that wants to get a performance edge on other cars or to make your presence known to cars blocking you in the left lane." —Jonathan E from Moore, OK bought a BBK Performance Exhaust Headers for a 2012 Ford Mustang.

"Install this in about 2 hours. Made my car feel more powerful (Bama Tune) and the sound is amazing. On idle sounds just like a v8" —Eric M from El Paso, TX bought a BBK Performance Exhaust Headers for a 2012 Ford Mustang.

"While I'm grateful that I didn't spend a lot of money on these headers, I must say that their craftsmanship and quality assurance is lacking. The headers arrived with smudges, scratch marks and rust. The welds on the flange to the primaries were intrusive, albeit still an improvement over stock. The driver side header was significantly easier to install than the passenger side but, I think that is evident upon glancing into the engine bay. Be prepared for a lot of micro turns with your wrench." —Matthew L from Great Falls, MT bought a BBK Performance Exhaust Headers for a 2012 Ford Mustang, 3.7L V6.

"I recieved theses headers wrapped ok. But I checked and there was no damage. A little rust on the surface, but that's ok. The finish was good, and the welds were nice and thick and uniform. No dents either in the headers from what I could tell. They make my car sound really good. Way deeper and marginally louder. No more rasp at all. Sounds like an exotic car many people have said." —Marius M from Tarzana, CA bought a BBK Performance Exhaust Headers for a 2012 Ford Mustang, 3.7L V6.

"I noticed a difference in torque but barley any hp gains. But they look, feel, and sound Awesome!" —Adam P from Marina, CA bought a BBK Performance Exhaust Headers for a 2012 Ford Mustang, 3.7L V6.

"Auto Anything had the best price. The exhaust showed up on the estimated ship date. The Corsa exhaust came with easy to follow instructions and the fit and finish is top notch. The sound is amazing. The black key idle and cruse are pretty quit with no drone, but when you step on it, she really screams. The Red key idle really comes to life with this exhaust." —Jeffrey S from Corryton, TN bought a Corsa Performance Exhaust for a 2012 Ford Mustang, GT, 5.0L V8.

"Clearly you pay more for a Borla Cat-Back system than for competing brands. When you want the best though, there is no substitute. The Borla "S" type Cat-Back system brought my 2012 Mustang GT "5.0" to life. I had previously installed a Cold Air Intake System, a Larger Throttle Body and Accel Super Coil on plug kit. Installing the new exhaust system seemed to allow everything to get back in sync for massive air in and massive air out with extreme power in between. I love the sound and the look of the 4.5" tips. My opinion, you either hava a Borla system or you don't and Auto Anything had the best price." —Joe T from Tuscola, TX bought a Borla Exhaust Systems for a 2012 Ford Mustang, GT, 5.0L V8.

"Installed these without a lift in a little under an hour. Wow - it's like a totally different vehicle. Now it sounds like you would expect a V8 to sound. My work commute is a 90 mile round trip and I do not have any issue with it being too loud unless I want it to sound off. Sync and speaker-phone conversations are no problem. I need to find someone to drive it for me so I can hear it outside the vehicle. I love sitting at a redlight and giving it a little juice and feel the rumble of the exhaust and the torque twist of this amazing 5.0 - and watching the heads turn beside me !! PRICELESS." —Brian P from Medina , TN bought a Flowmaster Exhaust Systems for a 2012 Ford Mustang, GT, 5.0L V8.

Flowmaster Exhaust Systems

Great sound

Had force II mufflers installed on my 2012 mustang V6. Really love the rumble and tone of these mufflers. Sounds a little more like a V8 though it's not. Overall i am very pleased with the force II system. View more reviews...
