Read the directions (before, not after you start), watch the video, and use some common sense. Once the parts are laid out (oh yeah, make sure you got some room to work - like about a single garage size space) it's fairly easy to see how it goes together. I put it together on a set of saw horses, then removed the slide, and installed the support in the bed. After installing support, reloaded the slide and installed the stop bearings. Was able to handle by myself this way. Used 3/4" plywood and covered with good indoor/outdoor carpet. Looks good and keeps items from being scratched. Two possible improvements: 1. Another stop between in and out, perhaps about even with the tailgate down. Would be handy in close quarters. 2. Some sort of tiedowns, perhaps d-ring type attached to upper side rail. Three would be nice! Overall - really convenient, easy to access load, and surely beats crawling in to grab things. Easier on the knees, and a whole lot better on the back!
