disappointment

Reaching under the seat to work with those hard to get bolts was one thing. But what was depressing was to find that 1) the seat release handle for sliding the seat forward/backward is so exposed that it hits the back of my calves when I drive. 2)there is no seat recline lever to tilt the seat forward or backwards. These items would have been deal breakers several hours earlier. But installation was HARD and I am not anxious to remove/replace.

Good seat

The seat that I chose for my jeep is very durable and good looking. It was very easy to install ( mounted right on the old seats bracket) and is functioning wonderfully. The only downside that I have found to this seat is that it does not have any type of headrest so I do worry about whip flash in the event of an accident.

Somewhat tall prodct

So far the seats are great, however, it was mentioned that they were tall with my wife that is a great feature with me I can deal with it the problem is the seat belts neither hers or mine can get buckled. We are working on seat belt extensions but they haven't arrived yet. I am sure that sooner or later there will be some compression of the foam that will help. Don't even think about seat covers to protect the new seats that wont come close to fitting. I am still trying to send mine back.

OK Seats but did not match other seats

After replacing the driver seat I noticed that the seat adjuster stuck out further with the new seats, about four inches further. Took seat back out and everything looked ok. Then measured the base of the seat and it was 18 inches and the old seat was 23 inches. Did not like that the new seat did not match old.

The seats were easy to put together and install. Took about an hour including removing the old seats. Only problem is getting rid of the old seats.

Better than new

I am doing a frame off restoration on my 84 CJ7 and needed a driver's seat. I ordered this seat because it was priced amazingly reasonable and with no shipping cost, it beat all the used seat prices on EBAY! After I received it in the mail, I was taken back at the quality and comfort that I immediately ordered a second for the passenger side. Best Seat ever!

Smittybilt Jeep Seats

I had bought a pair of racing seats for the 90 jeep. My wife did not exactly fit the tight fitting space. After months of complaining and finally threats for me to get rid of the Jeep I sold them to my mechanic. I asked the guy at Auto Anything when I called the difference between a couple of seats. He steered me to these, I and my other half are very happy how they fit and feel. Jeep is staying.

a seat for my ol' Jeep

threads in the bottom of the seat frame were not cut accurately. Using only a 1/4" drive socket, I twisted a bolt in half trying to secure the frame rails to the seat. I fixed it with a drill and a bolt..Sometimes you gotta' improvise. The quality and comfort of the seat is excellent. Overall I am very satisfied.

seats are a good value but the Installation on my 1958 cj5 jeep was a big job that took about 12 hours and alot of re fitting . I had to use the old seats and cut off the backs then place plywood on old seat frame to re fasten new seats to .
