I was somewhat disappointed with these Nerf Bars; My Explorer Sport has trim below the door that interferes with the usage of the bars. I will need to modify the instillation such that the bars stick out about another inch so I can get more than my toes on the bar. In conclusion, these do not fit all 2dr Explorers as they should.

I figure that the difference in connection of the Westin Nerf Bars compared to the OEM bars was for strength but it does add a little difficulty to the installation. The look and feel of the Westin Nerf Bars are great and I am very pleased with my purchase. I will recomend their product and AutoAnything to everyone I know.

The installation is very tough. The bolts at the rear of the vehicle are to close to each other. You can't get a socket on the bolts because of it.You therefore can't get the installation at that point as tight as you want it to be.I also feel there should be another attachment to the vehicle in the center of the bar. When you step on the bar it feels as if it is bending in the center. The original bars I replaced were anchored in four(4)places and made for a more stable installation. My wife does not trust the installation because she feels they are bending at the step.
