It is unbelievable how much more enjoyable my Silverado is to drive after installing this. GMs AFM system sounds good in principle but it delivers negligible fuel savings while shortening the life of your engine and causing driveability issues. I've had it installed for 8 months now. My fuel economy dropped by only 0.1 mpg after installing the Range. No more bogging, vibration, or shock waves through the drivetrain in 4 cyl mode. All V8 all the time.

If you customize your exhaust you'll notice the AFM as it turns your exhaust to a large fluttering fan. That's the sound you're gonna hear as it switches back/forth. I drove across the state and the constant switching drove me crazy! If you have a truck, you don't want 4 cylinders. It's just another way for an aftermarket company to make money. It's just a simple program so it shouldn't be priced as high. $100 would be fair but Range has the market cornered right now so they're taking advantage.

Works at it should, no codes or lights. Truck seems to be happy with it and it runs much better. I was worried about the blue light (not really my thing) but it is barely noticeable and looks pretty cool. I didn't get the nice box as pictured but I could care less. I was more worried about the truck throwing codes.

Great product. A friend told me after purchasing my used 2008 Silverado 5.3L that I had active fuel management which explained why I had sluggish acceleration. This device works! Now that I run all 8 cylinders all the time I do not have the problem anymore, particularly since I use it to tow a trailer. If you have the extra $189.00, it's worth the price. This is also my first experience with Autoanything, and I will be a repeat customer. Great 5 star customer service. Good job guys....
