Description:

When it comes to horsepower, dropping cylinders is a recipe for flat-lined performance. This especially holds true with Active Fuel Management (AFM) systems installed on V8-powered rides and rigs. While they're great for saving you at the pump, turning a V8 monster into a wheezing 4-banger understandably kills performance. Wake up all 8 of those potent pistons for full-time power with the Range Technologies Active Fuel Management Disable Device.

If Active Fuel Management has a stranglehold on your ride, the Range Technologies Active Fuel Management Disable Device is the answer. This powerful module completely disables AFM, allowing your ride to run on 8 cylinders constantly. All it takes is a few seconds to locate the diagnostic port in your ride and plug in the Range Technologies Active Fuel Management Disable Device. This results in a more responsive ride with all 8-cylinders available full-time and ready for action.

No adjustments are needed to enjoy the full performance of the Range Technologies Active Fuel Management Disable Device. And all changes are fully reversible, so if you need to restore the stock Active Fuel Management program, simply turn off the engine and unplug the device. Say goodbye to unpredictable power and snail-like acceleration with a Range Technologies Active Fuel Management Disable Device. Best of all, Range backs their Disable Device with a 1-year warranty.

Notes:
  • The Range Active Fuel Management Disable Device cannot be used in conjunction with aftermarket tuners that need to remain attached to the diagnostic port.
  • The Range AFM Disable Device is NOT a programmer and does NOT change the ECU's mapping or memory locations. It is a dynamic interactive device that actually participates on the vehicle's communication line (bus) and revises the way the ECU uses its STOCK calibration to lock it in V8 mode. Since the Range AFM Disable Device does not change the factory programming in any way, your vehicle will still comply with the factory certified emissions profile.

Works as Advertised

I've only had it for a couple hundred miles but it keeps my AVALANCHE in V8 mode so it should help save my valve train.

works

My 2011 Tahoe was making funny noise when going to V4. I figured this would be cheaper than the transmission fix route. 114K miles. The noise has gone away and I get V8 all the time. Hope it stays that way. I drive it for 3 days usually and not seen a battery issue like some have said. I chose the Blue light and it is not noticeable annoyance like others stated.

Range Active Fuel Management Disable Device

This easy to use device works as advertised. I leave it in the box in my center console and utilize it as necessary to keep the AFM at bay. There are a ridiculous amount of downshifts due to the AFM putting the truck in 4 cyl mode. This eliminates the excessive down shifting and wear on the hyd lifters too.

Awesome !!!!!!! 5 stars I

This thing is awesome and my truck runs better too. Don't really notice the gas mileage difference. Should be OEM.

Range afm disabler

Bought this cause I wanted my V8 to be just that. No check engine light, no issues just a V8 and this is exactly what it does. I'm getting about the same mpgs mixed highway and some back roads and I'm still getting about 19 mpg so it was a definite good buy.

small but worth the money

I've only had this device 2 weeks and it works perfectly keeping the engine in 8 cylinder mode all the time and no engine codes yet. this truck has the 6.2 engine 8 speed trans and is a 2018. Gas mileage went down slightly around town don't know about freeway. if this device saves me from having to repair the lifters later then the millage and cost of the Ranger are worth it. The engine and transmission act sort of like they are in the tow/haul mode. At this point this Ranger is a great device.

Satisfied Customer

Product installed as directions provided. Very easy to install and works as described. Have not driven enough distance to provide any differences in MPG. Vehicle is usually driven locally so I don't really pay attention to gas mileage as I would during trips. Hope it helps with potential long-term issues that some reviewers have posted regarding deactivation of cylinders.

wow!

I am a professional mechanic who has had several DOD motors come in with lack of power lifters tapping, and motors almost trashed from DOD this range plug was so simple after doing alot of research on this product i went with the active fuel disable device plugged it in and have heard nothing but positive feed back from customer. Not to mention average fuel economy is still at 19mpg in town! Wow!

IT WORKS!

I was dealing with a misfire for almost 2 years and could not diagnose the problem. A friend of mine recommended disabling the active fuel management system. The second I started the truck with the disable device the misfire was completely gone and it's been running great since. My fuel efficiency has also gone up from 13.8 mpg to 15.2. Highly recommend!

Just plug it in and go! Truck drives so much better. Might have lost 1mpg... but trans isnt hunting anymore and truck drives like a v8 is supposed to!

AFM Disabler

Keeps me in V8 mode. Have not seen any real difference in MPG yet. Off idle throttle response seems improved. Does the job! I would recommend to a friend.
