2003 Jeep Rubicon

Reviewed By Timothy K (Victoria, BC) Reviewed for a 2003 Jeep Wrangler —3/11/2008 7:58 PM

I reprogrammed my stock 4.0 litre 2003 Jeep with the Hypertech Max Energy Programmer, the reprogramming was simple, just fllow the instructions. I was able to set the RPM limit 500 rpm's higher, and programmed for horsepwoer/torque on 86 octane fuel. I could feel the immediate different, the lower rpm torque could be noticed, but the biggest improvement was at higher altitude, the power was there, that wasn't before. I was not afraid to pass slower traffic, as before it took considerable distance to pass slower moving vehicles. It also can clear or diagnose most error codes, which is helpful.

Great tuner after a few tweaks...

Reviewed By Ryan J (FESTUS, MO) Reviewed for a 2006 Jeep Wrangler —1/17/2018 2:54 PM

Received tuner and purchase experience was wonderful. Initial installation for software was fine, however installing it in my jeep lj was not easy, at all. Had to call, customer service ans reinstall it again with an additional upgrade. All in all it seems to work fine and my jeep sounds quieter after the superchip.

TD@ in 2008 Rubicon

Reviewed By Michael H (Bothell, WA) Reviewed for a 2008 Jeep Wrangler —8/7/2017 9:26 PM

Does a lot of cool things, Was a little disappointed that it has no control of the Rubicon sway bar disconnect, as some reviews state. It will turn off the warning light it the user has bypassed it in some other manner. In addition, locker control seems to be there in 2wd and 4 hi also, but in mine, I have to be stopped to engage the lockers with the td2. The switch allows locking while moving, but only in 4low. I have had the td2 lock up a few times and require a power cycle to reset.
