Tuners are a unique electronic device and, therefore, have a unique return process. This process necessitates physical inspection of the unit before a refund can be issued. Why? Because once a tuner is purchased and paired with a vehicle, it can only be used on that specific vehicle. This is called “vin-locking,” and prevents multiple uses of the product on different vehicles without license from the manufacturer. When returning a tuner, the tuner must first program the vehicle back to stock-mode so that it’s no longer locked to that specific vehicle. At this point, the vehicle loses the performance tune. If the tuner is returned while the vehicle still has the tune programmed to it, it will fail inspection as it cannot program another vehicle and is not in resell condition. The return will then be rejected with no return credit issued.

How to Return an Item

Step 1: Start a Return from Your Online Account

Please log in to your account. Locate and click on your order under Order History. Find the item you wish to return or exchange and click on Return Item to submit your request.

Step 2: Receive a Return Authorization Number (RMA#)

One of our customer care specialists will provide you with:

An RMA#
An email with detailed return shipping instructions

Step 3: Pack & Ship

Pack everything that came with the product and use its original packaging.

Affix the return shipping label that we provided to the package. If we didn't provide you with a return shipping label, make sure to include the RMA# on the package
Ship the package to the address specified in the email you received from Step 2.
Returns must be sent in within 10 days of shipping label being issued or a new label will need to be issued

Step 4: Receive Your Refund or Exchange

After we receive your package, we'll process your refund or exchange after it has passed inspection. You can expect to see the refund credited within 72 hours after the return has been received to the payment method that you used when you originally placed your order.
Precise timing is subject to your financial institution. If you selected an exchange, we will ship your replacement promptly upon receipt and inspection of your returned item.

Defective Product

Damaged Product

Occasionally packages in transit can become damaged. Call us right away so we can set it straight.

Incorrect Product

Lost Package

Hypertech is the technology leader in High-performance engine tuning computer-controlled vehicles. Electronic engine controls have evolved rapidly since their introduction in the early '80s. Hypertech has kept pace with these rapid advances in technology by developing power tuning products that take advantage of the capabilities of these electronic controls. Early automotive computers used replaceable PROMs or "chips" to calibrate the Electronic Control Module (ECM) for a specific engine, powertrain, and vehicle combination. Hypertech created the original Power Chips to recalibrate these electronic "brains" for improved performance.

Later generations of Electronic Control Units (ECU) eliminated calibration chips. Instead, engine tuning information is stored in the unit's programmable memory. In addition to controlling basic engine functions, microprocessors now monitor and govern a wide range of systems, including the transmission, brakes, instrument panel, emission controls, and heating/air conditioning. For comparison, the code stored in an early chip would fill one page; now a typical ECU contains more than 1,600 pages of code!

Hypertech created the Power Programmer to access this "flash" memory and download the Hypertech Power Tuning program directly into the ECU's programmable memory. In addition to controlling engine functions such as air/fuel mixture, spark timing, and maximum rpm, these highly evolved ECUs also regulate transmission shift points and firmness, limit top speed, and display speedometer and odometer readings. Hypertech engineers were able to use these capabilities to provide additional features for enthusiasts. The Power Programmer is much more than a tuning chip – it is a self-contained automotive tuning computer. The Power Programmer automatically installs the powerful Hypertech tuning program. It also allows enthusiasts to access and reprogram the vehicle's computer to function properly with aftermarket components such as non-stock wheels, tires, and rearend ratios. A Hypertech Power Programmer is really the most powerful and versatile tool a performance enthusiast can own!

This did exactly what I was hoping for.

My H2 drove nicely. I wanted to do the mild 87 octane tune and enter my larger tire size into the mix. I also added 25% to shift firmness. It starts up with way more enthusiasm and has a much more enjoyable feel when driving. Less throttle and more power. I have not been able to determine any mpg increase but imagine there must be a bit based on not having to be in the pedal as much as well as the increased responsiveness.

Very poor experience

AutoAnything is not to blame here. My complaint is with Hypertech! When they say 'May need reprogramming' it means your programmer will likely not work until you do so! This requires a download from Hypertech's website, which also does not work! The anti-virus on 4 different computers would not allow the download needed for this! I had to return the unit to Hypertech for reprogramming. I have spent a lot of time dealing with this situation, and it's totally unacceptable!

Great California product

Helps if you want to change top speed,fan initiation temperature points, automatic trans shift points and shift hardness, rev limiter, tune for better performance, or eco, you can honestly feel the difference, tire size and axle ratio can be swapped and the tuner will keep it running right, does not help for cold air intake as far as I know priced a bit high but good overall quality and performance get it make sure you have Windows u will need to update your model

Great choice if you're looking for safe, reliable gains

I installed this tuner on my 2018 F-150 with the 2.7L Eco-boost. I have created 2 programs I can switch between. I have a conservative program for everyday driving using 87 octane and a more aggressive program for 93+ octane for ultimate performance. I have had very little experience with the aggressive program so far but the everyday tune is noticeably better than stock.

Nice tuner, decent price. No more AFM!

While this tuner is easy to use once you download the proper software/drivers to your pc. The process of getting the proper software/drivers was a pain in the butt. Why the tuner wouldn't be able to use the most up to date software is beyond me. Maybe it was the software developers issue. Anyway, once the unit was updated it was pretty straight forward to make any adjustments you want. Took about 10 minutes once I decided on the details of the tuning. Haven't noticed any fuel economy gains yet.

Bricked my Frontier?

The constellation of stars is as you see it, because after programming my truck, which was very easy to do, my starter began to not work (simply got one click) in a random fashion. Sometimes it started, at other times it didn't. Starter, alternator, and battery all checked out as OK at my Nissan dealership. This is new behavior, and though I cannot definitively claim that your product is to blame, this problem began only after I had reprogrammed my truck.

2014 V-6 Camaro on Hypertech

I love this Hypertech--You can set your rev limiter--set your top speed==set your shift points --set your shift pressure so your firmness on shift is great--I can turn off traction control --lock transmission in 1st gear on manual side--hold brake for one second and do a 40 foot burnout with an automatic V-6--This is awesome !!!!!

I have purchased Hypertech programmers for a 1996,.98 and 2002 GM vehicles. All have worked as advertised and my experience with hypertech has been very satisfying. The new Max energy arrived without the software update cd included. I tried installing with hopes of no update required but to no avail. Cannot give your product the rating it deserves without the disc. I have purchased other products fron Auto Anything with complete satisfaction and I'm confident your company will send me the cd

Very user-friendly; immediate noticeable improvement

Plugged it in, and was custom tuning my truck in seconds. Very easy to follow layout. Very happy I am able to save multiple presets to quickly switch between better performance, or MPG's, or towing. Was skeptical of pricing at first- but feels like driving with a whole different engine/ transmission after tuning. I've only been driving tuned for about 5 days, and already seems well worth the money.

Hypertech Max Energy in 2014 Silverado

This unit is a welcome addition to any Silverado gas engine. Your truck will become much more enjoyable to drive with it installed. There are plenty of options for the consumer. This unit does not deliver the engine power that the Diablo iTune3 provided, but; the transmission options for this tuner and applicability are far superior than the Diablo. I returned the Diablo to AutoAnything and purchased this Hypertech. Much more satisfied.

Only been using it a few days, but immediately noticed smoother acceleration and the computer is showing an increase of 3-4 mpg. I haven't checked it manually by the odometer yet, but the computer was always dead on before adding the programmer. I set it on level 2 and it'll jump right up to 80mph when passing. I'll try the other settings in the future for comparison. I recently acquired the truck and it now has about 88,000 miles.

Hypertech Programmer 2017 Explorer Sport 3.5L ecoboost

Had some issues with codes while trying to download my program to the vehicle. Tech support was great, and got my issues resolved quickly. Started with a sport-type tune on 87 octane. The results were dramatic. Car goes like a scalded dog. Time to try a more aggressive tune. Very happy with this product.

Hypertech Max Energy 2.0 Progammer GMC 5.3L 2018

I had a 2010 Hypertech Max energy for the 5.3L and it was good, but this new 2.0 is great! It has much better tuning options, easy to use. I also added a K&N cold air system. Excellent torque gains, and shift points are way better for towing.
