You need to pay careful attention to the assembly in order to avoid little gaps between the two halves. Once assembled, this thing is pretty bulletproof. The finish is a nicely done powdercoat.

Basket assembles easily and works great. The Curt Waterproof Cargo Carrier Bag is NOT waterproof. Just got back from 2,000 mile roundtrip with the carrier/bag combination. We had rain for the last about 500 miles and everything that was near the zipper was soaking wet. We were using the hitch on our SUV. Enough water got in that it was standing in the bottom of the bag. Basket gets a big thumbs up but the bag gets a big thumbs down.
