"Rack installed relatively easy. Arrival in 3 separate packages seemed strange. I ordered rack for a 4 door Focus, instruction sheet said for a 3 door. I thought maybe they sent the wrong one. However the installation went OK, just pay close attention to the illustrations in the instruction sheet. Once installed, it adjusts easy to change the bar spacing. Removal is a snap. Good engineering. Seems very solid to transport my kayak. Steve in MA" —Stephen S from Avon, MA bought an INNO Base Rack System for a 2005 Ford Focus.

Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack System

Great looking rack, but instructions aren't as good as they seem

I really like the look of this rack, and the instructions seem great except for one major flaw: They specify exactly how tightly to tighten the tensioning bolts (88-97 pound force inches), but the tool they provide isn't a torque wrench. It says in bold all-cap letters not to over tighten, but without a torque wrench it's impossible to know. I took a best guess and the rack seemed extremely solid. And a few days later I noticed on of the clamps had come completely off and if I had driven anywhere the rack would have fallen off the car. Was it so tight that it forced it's way off or so loose that it worked it's way off? I have no idea. So I had to go to the hardware store and buy a torque wrench. But the tool they provide is a security allen wrench that can't fit onto the torque wrench. So I had a choice: Take a hacksaw to the tool they provide and adapt it to the torque wrench, or go buy a set of security bits. I chose the latter, and now the rack is securely and nicely on my car again. So, in addition to the price of the rack I had to buy a $35 torque wrench and a $15 set of security bits. It was an unexpected cost. If you already have a torque wrench, there's nothing to not love about this rack. If you don't, just be aware that it will be an important tool purchase. Father’s Day 2020 Road Trip Planning Guide

I was sitting back the other day, actively trying to deny the fact that the head gasket is probably failing on my Bronco when I remembered that Father’s Day is just around the corner. I started thinking about what I could get my dad that he would actually get use out of. I could get […] The post Father’s Day 2020 Road Trip Planning Guide appeared first on AutoAnything Resource Center.
