No one wants to see their truck squatting down with its headlights pointing up to the sky with a heavy load or high tongue weight trailer. Not only does it make it look like your truck just can’t handle it, it also negatively affects handling and your suspension’s ability to handle bumps, corners, and trailer sway. Sure, you could setup your truck with heavy duty springs to handle the load, but then as soon as you drive it unloaded, it’s going to be a bouncy, uncomfortable ride. That’s where our air suspension kits come into play.
The air suspension systems we sell here are mostly for aide in compensating for heavy or uneven loads, not just for pickup trucks, but for SUVs, cars, and vans as well. At their simplest, some air ride kits work by fitting an air bag inside a coil spring, and are inflated by a compressor to help your coil springs from sagging down with load. More common kits are air bag suspension kits for leaf spring rear suspension, where the air springs mount between the frame and the top of the axle, over the leaf spring assembly.
Our air suspension systems can range from a load leveling capacity of just 500lbs up to a compensation of 7,500lbs in heavy duty applications. Most air suspension kits can be installed without drilling in just 1-2 hours, and can be done with simple hand tools. Note: aftermarket air bag suspension kits do not invalidate your vehicle’s gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), they just supplement your vehicle’s ability to handle those loads safely.
Trusted brands for air ride kits brands include Air Lift, Firestone, Hellwig, and Timbren. Kits can be purchased with just the air springs, or as full solutions with air compressors, lines, and in-cab controls as complete air suspension kits. Some kits include gauges for monitoring and controlling side to side pressures or front and rear, depending on your needs. Not only will these air bag suspension kits compensate for the weight, but they also help smooth and soften the ride, making them ideal solutions for long trip hauling in comfort and ease.
