2006 Ford F 150 Suspension Systems

The suspension system on your car has two main jobs:
  1. Keeping your tires in good contact with the road as you travel
  2. Making sure your spine is still intact once you get there

Too much of one goal might allow the other goal to suffer a bit (depending on how you drive), so there is a balance to hit here. Depending on the vehicle's intended purpose, that balance might bias to one side more than another. Where we come in, is that we give you the tools to tweak that balance for your intended purpose, or maybe return it back to where it should be, if you're sitting on some worn out parts.

Diving deeper, your suspension system is also largely responsible for ensuring even tire wear, giving your steering a relatively neutral platform to do its thing, and allow for appropriate weight transfer under braking/acceleration/cornering to keep your car going where you point it.

"I just had these shocks put on my truck last week, So far I'M very satisfied with their performance and ride. I placed them on the highest setting and they leveled my truck and got rid of the factory rake.I had them installed and did the alignment and everything seems to be good. I plan on installing the rear shocks with the Bilsteins also. This kit seems to be the best option for leveling your truck and at the same time getting a top quality shock. 285 Nitto's and xd addict wheels coming next" —Russell B from Chesapeake, OH bought a Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks for a 2006 Ford F-150, 4WD.

"I bought these air bags to supplement my suspension while towing my 28 foot travel trailer. It was previously sagging in the back a bit. Now that I have installed the air bags there is no sagging at all. As for installation, I am fairly mechanical, and it took me about three hours from start to end. The process is straight forward and simple. There is no drilling required. Although I did have to grind a 1/16 of an inch off a couple brackets to make the u-bolts fit properly. One other note is that the nuts that come with this are some type of locking nut and it is difficult to wrench these three inches down on the threads. There are about 8 different spots to do this. I would recommend these to anyone who wants to eliminate sagging from their truck while towing." —Jason H from Bauxite, AR bought a Firestone Air Bag Suspension Kit for a 2006 Ford F-150.

"Installed them on my truck to clear the 37in. tires on my 6in. lift as well as a leveling kit up front and it came out great. The ride seems much smoother than before and the installation was a breeze." —Dylan H from Torrance, CA bought a Skyjacker Lift Kits for a 2006 Ford F-150.

"Fast shipment, had them installed the next day. After leveling my truck my front sat 1/2" higher in the front now with the 3" block its sits 1/2" higher in the rear. Exactly what I was looking for, my truck sits perfect! Thanks" —Steven L from Rutland, MA bought a ReadyLIFT Rear Block Kits for a 2006 Ford F-150, 4WD.

"Overall it is a great product. It says it would lift my 06 f150 1.5 inches in the back and it actually lifted it 2.5. I like the way it looks. It doesn't ride too bad unloaded either. A little bit more rough, bout like a 3/4 ton. It took me and a buddy approx 4 hours hanging out, shooting the bull, and running to the parts house for misc tools to install it with. Not too hard of a job" —Jacob E from Bryant, AR bought a Skyjacker Add-A-Leaf Springs for a 2006 Ford F-150.

And pulling my trailer is like nite and day. Great shocks and a really good price especially with free shipping" —Domonic K from Ticonderoga, NY bought a Skyjacker Lift Kits for a 2006 Ford F-150.

Air Lift Wireless Air Compressor System

AIR LIFT SYSTEM - BAGS AND WIRELESS CONTROL

I received the packages as scheduled. Reviewed instructions and installed. The hardest part was deciding where to mount the compressor and controller. All connections, mounts, tubing and hardware are top quality! Highly recommend! Took me about 4 hours to fully install - at night in the driveway - by myself!! I was a factory trained Ford and BMW technicians and some mechanical aptitude is recommended. The change in the ride and handling of my F150 is unbelieveable. View more reviews...

Air Lift WirelessOne Air Control System

Convenient System

The install was relatively easy. The only issue I had was deciding where to mount the compressor and how to connect to power. I did not like the idea of drilling a hole in my fuse box and jumping a fuse in order to make the connection. Other than that, everything was relatively easy to install. View more reviews...

Your Suspension Not Cutting It? Top 10 Suspension Parts to Consider In 2021

Friends don’t let friends buy bad parts. Throw away that eBay link for that $200 coilover set, and don’t even think about cutting those springs! The truth is that if we’re talking about common upgrades on our cars/trucks, I would imagine that the suspension is one of the most often misunderstood systems on our cars.
