2008 Ford F 350 Suspension Systems

The suspension system on your car has two main jobs:
  1. Keeping your tires in good contact with the road as you travel
  2. Making sure your spine is still intact once you get there

Too much of one goal might allow the other goal to suffer a bit (depending on how you drive), so there is a balance to hit here. Depending on the vehicle's intended purpose, that balance might bias to one side more than another. Where we come in, is that we give you the tools to tweak that balance for your intended purpose, or maybe return it back to where it should be, if you're sitting on some worn out parts.

Diving deeper, your suspension system is also largely responsible for ensuring even tire wear, giving your steering a relatively neutral platform to do its thing, and allow for appropriate weight transfer under braking/acceleration/cornering to keep your car going where you point it.

"Much improved ride in my F350 duley. I pull a 36 foot 5th wheel 3 slide camper or a 12000 # goose neck work rig . I am now a happy camper. Thanks for recommending these shocks." —Richard H from Harrison, AR bought a Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks for a 2008 Ford F-350.

"I bought this kit for an 08 Ford F350 Dually. Went on easy, and really changed the look of the truck! Sits perfectly level, now got plenty of room for 35s." —Morgan B from Zapata, TX bought a ReadyLIFT Leveling Kits for a 2008 Ford F-350.

"Instalation/directions were lousy! But customer service was Outstanding! And the springs are solid! CG" —Nancy G from Edgewood, WA bought a SuperSprings for a 2008 Ford F-350.

"These shocks made an unbelievable improvement to the way my truck rides and handles. Much better than the OEM Rancho shocks that came with the vehicle, or the Monroe's I replaced. I strongly recommend this product." —Derek N from Howell, MI bought a Skyjacker Lift Kits for a 2008 Ford F-350.

"The product is very well made. You can tell from the weight and feel that the product will last you the life of the vehicle. My ONLY complaint is that the kit came with only rubber ends for the coil to the leveler. The kit had no rubber separators for the leveler to the body of the truck. I had my local tire company put these on last week when I was upgrading my tires to the 35-12.5-20 Cooper STTs. The mechanic pulled me aside to show that the kit would be constantly rubbing the inner body of the truck since there was nothing separating the metal on metal (which means a lot of noise every time you hit a bump). He showed me where he could just weld the leveler to the body and use the rubber separator over the coil to the leveler. Other than that, it's a GREAT product! Everything turned on just fine in the end and the truck looks AWESOME!!" —Matthew T from Hattiesburg, MS bought a Traxda Leveling Kits for a 2008 Ford F-350.

"Went through the death wobble 3 times. Replaced factory (completely dead) front shocks and steering stabilizer with Bilstein 5100 series. Rides like a truck again and no more death wobble. Excellent quality shocks." —William B from Brighton, CO bought a Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks for a 2008 Ford F-350, 4WD.

"Installation was pretty straight forward and instructions are very easy to understand. The airbags had been previously installed so once a location for the pump and manifold were done everything was pretty simple. Do take the time to find a good location I mounted mine above the spare tire mount. Make sure bolts will not damage the tire once reinstalled but it was a nice flat dry spot and had easy access to a keyed wire +12v when key is on and a very easy run to the battery on drivers side. T-ing into the airlines was a 30 second process. If you have ever installed a radio or wired for a trailer hitch this is an easy job for the DIYer." —Michael R from Canton, GA bought an Air Lift Wireless Air Compressor System for a 2008 Ford F-350.

"Easy install! I pull a 24' enclosed trailer for work everyday and this made the difference. The truck pulls anything, but adding the bags was a night and day difference! I was amazed that it feels easier to pull heavier loads. I also have a 30' toy hauler that would drop the back end of the truck 2 inches or so. These make it ride so much better." —Van A from Mesa, AZ bought a Firestone Air Bag Suspension Kit for a 2008 Ford F-350.

VIAIR Onboard Air Systems

everything it's supposed to be

very happy with everything. ended up adding this to airride controller and loadlifter ultimate for my 2008 f350 dually. I mixed and matched the parts I needed to get the results I wanted. mounted compressor and tank in tool box in truck bed. loud from the outside. can't hear it in the cab over my diesel though. I have yet to install because I'm on vacation. Will be installing early April. My brother has this unit and it works GREAT so I'm excited to get mind done. I pull a 35' 5th wheel and I manually inflate (yes that's a pane).Planning to install pump behind back seat. View more reviews...

beerwhisper

I installed the system myself, in one day. The instructions were excellent. I downloaded them before delivery, so I knew what to expect. For ignition power, I tapped off the trailer plug harness. Dropping the spare tire provided plenty of room for the compressor and related hardware. There were no leaks or electrical issues, so I zip-tied all hoses and wires. I really like the system. When hooked up to our 39' 5th wheel, I use preset 2. Empty, I use preset 1. Very nice! View more reviews...

Your Suspension Not Cutting It? Top 10 Suspension Parts to Consider In 2021

Friends don’t let friends buy bad parts. Throw away that eBay link for that $200 coilover set, and don’t even think about cutting those springs! The truth is that if we’re talking about common upgrades on our cars/trucks, I would imagine that the suspension is one of the most often misunderstood systems on our cars.
