Jtcoyote's crv hitch

My hitch was a class I for a Honda CR-V. Laying on a creeper made the installation awkward so it took longer. My muffler didn't drop down as much to begin with as shown on the on-line video so I soon found out it was impossible to install the hitch unless the muffler could be lowered. Once the muffler was lowered there was enough room to install the bolt and nut with tab. Suggest the tabs on the bolts be a little longer and be turned down at the end. It was tricky getting the nut and bolt aligned at the muffler location. The instructions were too brief for the installation even though there were only 4 bolts. Not doing mechanic work on a regular basis puts one at a disadvantage. It is a good thing there is an on -line video. Bolts don't seem like they are hard enough to take the recommended torques so I stopped torquing early. They are still pretty tight though and I am not worried about failure. Rated high strength bolts would help. The hitch is well built and looks good. I am satisfied with the product.
