I purchased this hitch to install on my 2006 Chrysler van. I priced it with local retailers, and found it to be less expensive than anyone else.

Good thing I read up on it on the different sites before tackling this so it took me 1hr. I had to use 2 floor jacks & for sure a pry bar. The spring hanger does move easily if you put the pry bar against it or else hitch won't go in. If the hitch was made as a 2 piece it would be so easy to install. And the reason I gave quality 3 stars is due to the paint easily coming off. The area that's dragging against the spring hanger came right off. Also area around the bolts came right off too.

Received order in 1 day. This hitch has to fit exactly in place. After beating on it for 3 hrs and slightly grinding, finally wnet into place. Holes for bolt up were quite large/ vs bolt up size of bolts. No new bolts included which was quite disappointing. Had to purchase from auto dealer. Was very uneasy about the size of bolts to bolt this up to frame. Decided not to install hitch. My loss.

This hitch will take more than my 2005 Dodge Caravan will. Installation is a simple process. Needed 15mm and 19 mm sockets with long extensions to work the ratchet. 6-point sockets worked; had trouble with 12-points slipping. Read the directions to make sure you're taking the correct bolts off to put this on. It was a little tricky manipulating into place, but with an extra hand it didn't go too badly. Easily within an hour. Maybe 30 minutes if the bolts on your vehicle aren't seized up.

Installation was a little difficult for one person, but manageable. The receiver fits very snug and contours to the underside of the Van. It is a very beefy receiver and fit the existing mounting holes. Directions were well written, short and concise!

Cold...we did not have the time or patience to put up with a misfitted hitch. Put the front bolts in first, loose will allow the toggle adjustment needed to start the rear two bolts. Very nice! Especially appreciated at -5 F weather.
