Though the website claims you can install this yourself, we took one look at the instructions and knew there was no way we could pull it off at home. I had U-haul install it for less than $50, which was totally worth not having the headache of doing this myself. Curts are the best hitches On a Ford Escape, the profile of this hitch is very minimal. I'm glad I decided NOT to get the "hidden hitch" that's also available on Auto Anything. It only sticks out maybe 1/2" from under the rear bumper.

Hitch arrived promptly. When I installed in I discovered a 3/8" gap on both sides. Tried to contact customer service but it was a Saturday. Installed the hitch by shimming both sides with steel washers. All appeared solid. Called customer service on Monday and their representative said it should be fine. Gap was 3/8" total.

Ordered the hitch and received it within 48 hours, shocking for such a bulky item. Was shipped in a box, well protected from shipping. Looks good on the vehicle and fit was PERFECT...no modifications needed, not even the additional spacer provided. As usual, Auto Anything came thru. Repeat customer that will be back.
