portable air compressor

I really like the idea that comes with a cloth case. It works really good and much faster to inflate the car tire than the others that I had before. Make sure to follow the instructions when you use it bcuz it will blow the fuse of your cigarette lighter.

Bicycle .....must have

If you take your bike on your trips ......then you can not be without a means to keep your bike tires at correct pressure. Also I took my " run-flat" tires of my BMW and I am now running standard tires.......keep posted I hope that I never need this compressor to get me to a tire repaire store.......but nice to know that you "should" be able to inflate a tire that is low.......even if it may take a few minutes????????????????

miti little compressor

I got this compressor a couple of weeks ago and have used it 2 or 3 times. I'm impressed with its ability to air up low tires and I like the automatic shut off feature when you switch it to that feature. All in all I like it and will carry it with me in my truck for emergencies. Great little compressor!!

Great!

After going through several cheap compressors from big box stores and discount stores that took forever to top off a tire, I decided to invest in this one. It is awesome. Plenty of power for my needs and comes with a storage bag to keep it neatly behind the backseat of my truck. Very happy so far!

Awesome portable compressor for the money!

I've owned and used (and worn out) numerous portable small compressors over the years (I'm 66). I must say that the VIAIR 85P is the best small compressor I've ever used. It is light in weight but operates very quickly and reasonably quietly. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a small portable compressor for their automobile.

Good Portable Air Compressor

Works as described, inflates very well. One issue, air pressure gauge is not accurate, I use own air pressure gauge and do not rely on the built in one.

for 15 inch tires

love this compressor. used it on both our cars, which have standard type 15 inch tires. super fast and easy. best part, this thing is so small you can store in your car without taking a lot of room. tried it on a friends truck tire, much bigger, took a lot longer. for our cars though, a wonderful product.

Much more than I expected

I really expected this little compressor to be ok. Not good or great, just ok. But, after using it on my three cars I am now an enthusiastic supporter. You read the claims of many manufacturers for their products, but when you get the product you find some of their claims are wishful thinking. Not so with VIAIR 85P. It is everything that the manufacturer claims. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Very Well Made and Nice Compressor

Well made, fairly quiet compared to most, quick & efficient, fills tire much quicker than most compressors, no quick release but this is not a deficit as the screw-on connector is quick & easy, it does NOT vibrate around as others have said. I've gone through so many compressors and this one is nice, especially for the price. I'm very happy & satisfied with this purchase. I have 4 older cars and they always seem to have tire leaks so I use this every few days and I couldn't be happier.

looks like a quality product

I've yet to use this item, for now it's been sitting in my trunk. From what I've heard it does the job well, and I will say that it seems like a very well-built product. There is however one minor gripe I have in regards to the build, and it's the little adapter mounts on the side of the compressor. Well mine came out of the box broken. Not sure if it was due to any issues with shipment or just a small design flaw. Anyways, it's not a deal-breaker. Also, a carrying case would've been nice.

It Pumps!

nice product. Purchase for my girl friend and we used it the day it arrived. Was easy to attached and pumped quickly. Not too much noise or vibration. The air guage is accurate at rest, but allow 5-6lbs more while pumping to get to the correct tire pressure.

VIAIR 85P Portable Air Compressor Review

Well made, highly recommended item. Get hot but it is "normal" (manual owners explained). When in use, the compressor doesn't stay in a place due to the vibration when the pump is working. I can live with it. Is not so slow to put the air in a truck tire. 20 psi in about few minutes (less than 5)

Exactly as advertised

This is the most powerful 12 volt compressor I have used. It met my high expectations, I'm satisfied having opted for it over less expensive models. It is quiet, powerful and low vibration for this type of compressor. The brass chuck fits tightly and is surely durable. The LED ensures your connection and the PSI gauge was dead on according to my own pressure gauge. The only improvement I could suggest would be a longer cord but this is adequate and aides the compact design.

85P Ford Ranger Tire

I've used this to fill my slow leak every couple of days until I get the leak fixed and, so far, it's been great. It plugs into the 12v source in the cab and is able to reach all of the tires if need be. I think it would be able to fill a total flat, but would be pushing it pretty hard.

Works great

The VIAIR 85P worked great for me, I have a f150 and it topped off all my tires recently after the very cold weather in the northeast. It was fast and convenient, no more trying to find a gas station that has a working air station. Very good buy

Great Value for the Money

Viar makes the best portable air compressors. I use it on my car tires every one to two weeks. Each tire looses about 2-3 psi and it takes 15 - 20 seconds for each tire to get the recommended psi.

Great little compressor!

I use it for both our truck tires and car tires. Plugs right into the 12V outlet so you can take it with you and top off the tires wherever you are. I read a few reviews that said it blew fuses but have had no problems with that whatsoever. The gauge seems to read about 4 lbs high but I know it so adjust for it. I think the company can help with calibration if I call. Buy it!!!

Excellent tire inflator

The 85P is a small, and lightweight yet powerful compressor. I normally use it for topping off the tire pressure on my car. It completes the job very quickly and is very quiet. The valve connector is a screw on connection which provides a good fit without losing any air, and once connected provides a fairly accurate pressure reading.

Good quality and quite

Going to gas station for air inflation of tires is a pain: station machine does not work and no time of going out. With this little device on hand, I can timely inflate tires which resulted in safer and cost-effective trips.
